2007 SCHOLARSHIP MEMORIES

On May 3rd, the Sons of Italy, Joseph B. Franzalia Lodge #2422, 808 South Drive, Ft. Walton Beach, held Honors Night for eight students receiving Scholarship Awards. In addition to receiving a $2,000 Scholarship, each recipient was presented a Certificate of Academic Achievement, a Dante Alighieri Medal and a book of bibliographies, ITALIAN AMERICANS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY - "From The Same Vine". Following the ceremony, the recipients and their families were served refreshments prepared by Lodge members. Pictured above are the recipients and the College/University they will be attending. Congratulations and best wishes to all the winners!!! A SPECIAL THANK YOU to the Scholarship Committee: Chairperson, Catherine Wagner, Co-chair, John Yanora and committee members Bill and Nancy Bridy. You all did a wonderful job.

2006 Scholarship Huge Success

Applications from our Lodge were placed in all Okaloosa County high schools as follows: Baker, Choctawhatchee, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, Laurel Hill and Niceville.

Each Scholarship is worth $1,000.00. The Lodge retains one $1,000.00 scholarship for a child or grandchild of a lodge member.

Scholarships not used by the county schools revert to the Lodge. In such case children/grand children of Lodge members are eligible for $500.00 scholarships until all funds are expended.

Applications were available from the Scholarship Team.
